Shopify moves its AI agent knowledge base into the admin panel #

Shopify has retired its standalone Knowledge Base app and replaced it with a knowledge base built into Merchant Admin. According to the October 26 changelog entry, the old app will stop working after January 15, 2027. This knowledge base holds non-product information like return policies and shipping times, and it helps AI shopping agents answer customer questions.

What it means for your business: Large stores with over 1,000 entries didn't have their data migrated automatically, so those store owners need to manually re-enter their information before January 15, 2027.
