Google moved the AI Overviews summary for brand name searches to the right column #
On November 2, Google shifted the AI Overviews summary shown for brand name searches from the top/middle of the results page to the right column; Chris Long and David McSweeney spotted the change and shared it on X. That same day, 18 media buyers interviewed by Digiday said their clients no longer approve Google search budgets without question. Google has not officially announced the change.

It's also worth reviewing how much of your search ad budget goes toward branded searches.Source: Search Engine Roundtable — Google AI Overviews For Brands Moved To Right Column · PPC Land — Google moves brand AI Overviews aside as buyers question search budgets

TikTok adds brand and category keyword packs to Search Ads #
In its Q4 2026 Product Preview (as stated in the source, though this date appears to be an error) published on October 30, TikTok announced two new impression share metrics for Search Ads campaigns, along with 'Keyword Packs'—ready-made keyword groups added to the Keyword Suggestion Tool. The Impression Share and Top 1 Impression Share metrics show how much of the eligible search impressions your ads are winning. Keyword Packs are updated daily based on search volume, cost per click and competition data.
What it means for your business: Identifying keywords with low impression share and reviewing your budget or bid settings accordingly can help you get more value from your TikTok ad spend. The ready-made keyword packs can also speed up campaign setup.
