OpenAI DevDay 2026: agents that take on ongoing work in ChatGPT #

At DevDay 2026 on September 29, OpenAI introduced agents that take on ongoing responsibilities, along with new ways for people and AI to work together. The company announced that ChatGPT is now a collaborative platform where people and agents work side by side, enabling developers to directly integrate new experiences into it.

What it means for your business: ChatGPT is moving beyond a question-and-answer tool into a platform where work gets accomplished. For your business, this means the way customers find you and do business with you will increasingly go through AI assistants, so making your website and information accessible and accurate for these assistants matters more than ever.
